Light Up Winter
PAST EVENTS
Light Up Winter was first conceived in 2017 as a way to bring joy and community to Cromwell during the dark winter months. We never in our wildest dreams thought that this little event would capture hearts and minds as it did. We are grateful for all the support we've had over the years, and look forward to growing the event for our town and people.
About Cromwell Promotions
The Cromwell & Districts Promotions Group (CDPG) has been encouraging people to play and stay in Cromwell since 1987. As a proud part of this thriving community, we support and drive many of the initiatives that help to make Cromwell a great destination to visit and an even better place to live.
The CDPG is behind the Subway Cromwell Summer Series, a five-event sporting series that gives athletes of all abilities the opportunity to practice their sport in our beautiful landscape. We are also the proud hosts of the Cromwell Fireworks & Street Party, the National Cherry Spitting Competition which is held at the yearly Cherry Festival, Light Up Winter, the Spring Market, and A Very Central Christmas alongside Connect Cromwell.
Besides these events, we have also been instrumental in driving various community initiatives, including the WiFi at the Mall and the Ambassador Programme.
We promote the region and local businesses on various platforms, including the Walk Cromwell and Discover Cromwell brochures and our online platforms – cromwell.org.nz, @cromwell_nz on Instagram, and Cromwell, Central Otago on Facebook.
